Justice League of WNY Granted 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status
[Buffalo, NY, August 28 2019]
The Justice League of WNY is proud to announce it is now officially recognized as a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. As a public charity, contributions donated to the Justice League of WNY are tax-deductible under IRC Section 170 and we can receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. The Justice League of WNY is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to serve the WNY region.
Since it’s formation in July 2018, the Justice League of WNY has been appearing at charity events across the region. It incorporated as a NYS non-profit in May 2019 as part of a planned growth plan. “With JLWNY now being a 501(c)(3), it’s the beginning of a wonderful adventure,” remarked Shawn Slattery, JLWNY President, and co-founder. “Obtaining 501(c)(3) status is a major milestone for the Justice League of WNY,” said co-founder Bob Hubbard. “Being recognized as a public charity will strengthen us in our mission to brighten the world. We are a charity that helps other charities. With this, we can better serve our community and help those in need.”
